Mopping is one of those chores that nobody really looks forward to. Between the heavy bucket of water, the dirty mop, and the inevitable streaks left on the floor, it can feel like a never-ending battle. But what if I told you that mopping could actually be quick, easy, and dare I say—enjoyable? That's exactly what the Sh-Mop promises.

In my latest video, I had the chance to dive deep into how professional cleaners—people who mop for a living—have been using the Sh-Mop for years to get cleaner floors with less hassle. Today, I’ll share all those insights with you, teach you exactly how to use the Sh-Mop to make mopping easier, and answer some of the biggest questions I’ve been getting. Plus, I’ll give you a sneak peek at what’s coming up next!

Why Mopping Has Been So Hard

For years, most of us have been mopping the hard way. Heavy mops, dirty water, and streaky floors—it’s just the way we were taught. But professional cleaners have known for a long time that there’s a better way to mop. And that’s the opportunity here—you can start using the same tools and techniques that pros use to get cleaner floors in half the time.

The Sh-Mop is not just another cleaning tool. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and designed to make mopping less of a chore. It eliminates the need for dirty mop water, gets rid of wasteful disposable pads, and actually helps you save time with every use. Imagine mopping your floors without the hassle of dragging a heavy bucket around or constantly wringing out a dirty mop head.

Who Am I, and Why Should You Listen to Me?

If you’re new here, I’m Amy, and at Speed Cleaning, we help people cut their cleaning time in half. We’ve spent years finding the best tools that help you clean faster and more effectively. And the Sh-Mop? It’s been a staple for professional cleaners for decades. This isn’t just another mop—it’s the mop that pros trust. With my background as a scientist, I’m all about finding practical, effective solutions—and the Sh-Mop is exactly that.

How to Use the Sh-Mop (And Save Loads of Time!)

One of the best things about the Sh-Mop is how easy it is to use. Here’s a quick breakdown of how it works:

Step 1: Make Your Mop Water Solution

We typically fill the bottom couple of inches of a clean kitchen sink with warm water and a little bit of floor cleaning solution like Sh-Clean. If you prefer to use a bucket, you can do the same. For quick clean ups, we sometimes just grab our spray bottle of ready to use floor cleaner and spray the floor.

Step 2: Drop In Your CLEAN Mop Covers

Part of what makes the Sh-Mop system unique is that we never create dirty mop water. Soak your mop covers in the clean mopping solution until ready to use. Grab a wet cover, wring it out until no longer dripping, and place on your Sh-Mop base.

Step 3: Replace the Cover as Needed

When the mop cover becomes either too dirty or to dry to clean the floors, and would instead start pushing the dirt around, it's time to replace it. We NEVER place the dirty cover back into our clean mopping solution, though! Just put your dirty covers in the laundry or bag to launder later and grab a fresh, new cover to put on the mop. No more sticking a dirty mop into clean water and just spreading the mess around!

    Step 4: Finishing Up

When you are finished mopping, it's time to drain the sink or dump your bucket. But remember, you started with a clean sink and you only kept clean mop covers in your sink so there is no need to re-clean! Just drain the sink and wipe it dry. This step keeps your floors cleaner and saves you time!

    Addressing Your Biggest Concerns

Since I started talking about the Sh-Mop, I’ve been getting some great questions. Here are a couple of the top concerns and how the Sh-Mop addresses them.

Objection 1: “Mopping Takes Too Long”

I get it—mopping isn’t exactly a fun activity, so why not spend as little time as possible doing it? The Sh-Mop saves you time by covering more surface area quickly and without the need to constantly switch out dirty water or wring out a mop head. You’re done in minutes, not hours.

Objection 2: “Dealing with Dirty Mop Water is Gross”

This was a big one! Many of you mentioned how frustrating it is to deal with dirty mop water—whether it’s constantly dumping and refilling the bucket or having to touch a wet, dirty mop head. The Sh-Mop system eliminates the need for a dirty water bucket altogether. Instead of dipping a dirty mop back into water, you just rinse the microfiber pad in the sink. It’s way more sanitary and way less mess.

    What’s Possible with the Sh-Mop?

Imagine a world where mopping doesn’t feel like a chore. Where you can clean your floors quickly, effectively, and without the hassle of traditional mops. The Sh-Mop offers a real transformation—it’s not just about getting clean floors, it’s about giving you back your time and making your cleaning routine as painless as possible.

Whether you’re prepping for guests, cleaning up after a big meal, or just doing a quick refresh, the Sh-Mop is designed to make mopping the easiest part of your day. And the best part? It works on all floor types, so no matter what kind of floors you have, the Sh-Mop has you covered.

Such a great demo! Thank you! It is so encouraging to see ways I can improve and make my system even easier with your beginning-end demonstration. Looking forward to more videos! (you’re a STAR!) :)

    Amy-
Thank you so much for this video-! I have had your mop and covers for years and way better than a traditional mop and I hate the Swiffer ones- too small and the wet solution smell horrible. It never occurred to me to use multiple covers-duh!
I was among the many that dreaded the dirty water and wringing out the cover. We recently moved and our in an apartment currently and so not as much flooring to mop and I have been just using my cleaning cloths and red juice with my foot for a mop in the small bathrooms- but now I look forward to trying your method in the kitchen using multiple covers and I am not dreading the chore. Thanks!!

That’s great info, Rebecca! I love hearing how cleaning companies who have been using this system for 20 years do things. Thank you!!

Amy, thank you for the video to demonstrate the basics of how to use the Sh-Mop system. Just a few observations. We have found that the yellow microfiber bonnet works best with the spray & mop method and not putting it in the bucket of water. The yellow bonnet does not wring out the water the same as the white cotton bonnet and you would end up with too much water left on the floor. The number of mop pads needed for a home will depend on the floor space. To use properly and prevent spreading of dirt and germs you will need 1 mop pad per room/area. We would have 3 mop pads for a small 1 bathroom apartment or an old home that is mostly carpet. I have several clients with large homes that are all solid flooring and those clients have up to 18 mop covers. I want to make sure that each of our client homes have the appropriate number of mop covers so that we are using the system correctly and not spreading dirt or germs.
Keep up the good work with providing new and informative videos! You are doing great!
